  OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Red Stick Robotics provides meaningful, hands-on professional development and workshops to teachers and students that relate vital STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) concepts to real-life learning.  Emerging technologies and resources are utilized to make connections for teachers and mentors who will in turn seamlessly integrate the STEM concepts into the classroom.

                                                          OUR PROGRAM

Red Stick Robotics partners with universities throughout Louisiana  to provide robotics kits, workshops, challenges and competitions to schools participating in our programs.  Science as Inquiry, Science and Technology, and Physical Science form the foundation of our programs, which are aligned to the new national standards for engineering, technology and science applications.  STEM concepts that relate to solving complex robotics tasks using LEGO, Vex, and SeaPerch are the focus areas of our workshops.  As a culminating event, students participate in an end-of-the-year challenge and/or competition that allows them to utilize the skills and concepts they have learned throughout the year.

Red Stick Robotics offers three unique tracks for partnering schools:  beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  Each track advances the level of concepts and skills to which students are exposed and increases the integration of STEM into classroom instruction.  We have three main goals for all of our programs
                    1)    Improve student academic achievement in science and math,
                    2)    Improve student attitudes in science and math, and
                    3)    Encourage students to pursue STEM degrees in college.
By designing, building, programming, and documenting robot performance, students will use science, engineering, technology, mathematics, and writing skills in hands-on projects that reinforce learning.

Realizing the financial constraints schools face in purchasing up-to-date supplies, materials, and professional development, our program offers a complete instructional package.
